A month long drug investigation led to a man and two women being charged with trafficking and possession of drugs in Cadiz Thursday afternoon.

Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree says the investigation led to a search warrant of a home on West End Street and 2 ounces of marijuana, guns, several different types of prescription medication, and 2 1/2 ounces of meth were found.

Chris Smith and Chandra Whetstine were arrested and charged with trafficking meth within 1000 feet of a school, possession of meth, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. Smith was also charged with possession of marijuana and prescription medication not in proper container.

Ashley Combs was also inside the home and she was charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

The investigation is being led by Deputy CJ Ahart and Sergeant Rob Schnieder. Deputies were assisted by the Cadiz Police Department and The Trigg County Constables Office.
