A welcome home ceremony for the U.S. Army’s 3rd Rakkasans Brigade Combat Team from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) will be conducted at Fort Campbell Sunday for soldiers redeploying from Eastern Europe.
According to Army officials, the Rakkasans are returning to Fort Campbell after a nine-month deployment in support of Operation European Assure, Deter and Reinforce.
Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division, known as the “Screaming Eagles,” have been stationed in the region since April 2023 following President Biden’s decision at the Madrid Summit to send an additional brigade combat team to Europe.
Colonel Ricarado A. Turner stated in a release that after nine months of hard work alongside their partners and allies, he is excited to see our soldiers come home and reunite with their families. He added, they have definitely earned it.
Meanwhile, more than 200 soldiers from the 3rd Rakkasans Brigade Combat Team returned to Fort Campbell late Thursday evening following a nine-month rotation to Eastern Europe.
