One of two suspects being sought in connection to the shooting of a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper was captured in Caldwell County early Sunday morning.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol announced on social media that their agency and Kentucky State Police arrested 29-year-old Braze Rucker in Princeton.
Rucker and an unidentified man are accused of shooting Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Adam Cothron on Interstate 40 East, near the 285-mile marker Friday night.
Following the shooting, police reported Rucker and the other suspect fled the scene in a Kia Forte that was later found abandoned in Sumner County.
Rucker was added to Tennessee’s Most Wanted list, with a $10,000 reward offered for information leading to his capture.
According to reports, Cothron is in stable condition after he was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after the shooting Friday night.
THP stated in the post that Trooper Cothron’s handcuffs were used to take Rucker into custody in Princeton. At this time, no other details about Rucker’s arrest have been released.
