Hopkinsville High’s Cate Blane opened her 2024 golf season with a sixth-place tie at the Trigg County Invitational on Wednesday.
The Lady Tiger senior carded a round of 78 on the par-71 Boots Randolph Golf Course.
Blane went out with a 38, with five pars and a birdie on the front nine. She had seven pars on the back nine but a quadruple-bogey 7 on No. 13 ended up keeping her out of the top five.
It was still a nice opener for Blane, who is the lone Lady Tiger golfer this season.
Hickman County’s Katie Abernathy, who was in Blane’s playing group, shot a 1-under 70 to win the individual title.
