Emma Dowell is looking to capitalize on a sophomore season that saw her qualify for both the Class 2A State Tournament and the KHSAA state first round.
The lone member of the Trigg County girls’ golf team opened her 2024 season with a 20th-place finish at the Marshall County Country Club on Tuesday.
Dowell shot a round of 90 on a day when the start of the event was delayed 30 minutes due to a rain storm that came into the Calvert City area as the boys were finishing their day.
University Heights Academy’s Conlee Lindsey won the event with a 5-over par 77.
She will be back in action on Wednesday on her home course as she plays in the Trigg County Invitational at Boots Randolph Golf Course.
