Increased Cost Of Vehicle Inspections In Trigg County And Kentucky

Trigg County and Kentucky residents who need a vehicle inspection by the County Sheriff’s Department will notice a change in two fees associated with the inspection.

Trigg County Sheriff’s Department Office Manager Faye Godair says the fee increase impacts on-site and off-site inspections of vehicles.

click to download audioGodair says inspections can be completed at the Trigg County Sheriff’s office during their regular business hours Monday through Friday, or by calling the office to schedule an on-site inspection.

click to download audioAccording to the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Kentucky VIN verification procedure aims to reduce the number of stolen vehicles and auto parts in the state. For that reason, the Department of Vehicle Registration (DVR) requires a VIN inspection for all out-of-state cars upon their transfer to KY. This includes all vehicles purchased out of state or those brought into the state by an owner who now resides in Kentucky.
