Trigg County School officials confirmed Monday the coming departure of James Mangels, who is joining Marshall County Schools in an administrative role at the beginning of August.
Superintendent Rex Booth told the News Edge “it’s a big loss for us, because he’s phenomenal at what he does.”
As the district’s director of personnel and student services, Mangels’ long-time responsibilities in Cadiz included the full authority of employee recruitment and selection, implementation of a student service program, the management of pupil records, the oversight of student attendance and welfare, the galvanizing of student behavior and discipline, and the complete review of all health-related matters and alternative education concerns.
Mangels’ position was posted July 24 — one day before the district’s last board meeting.
