Clarksville Pedestrian Killed Monday At Christian-Hopkins Line

Officials with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office have released the name of a man who died just north of the Christian-Hopkins county line Monday afternoon — along the Pennyrile Parkway.

Dewey L. Huff, Jr., of Clarksville, Tennessee, was struck by a vehicle, and deputies were advised by witnesses that Huff had been assisting a semi-truck with changing a flat tire on the emergency lane of the highway.

Huff had finished the tire change and was standing in the right travel lane while speaking to the operator of the semi-truck. At that time, Luke M. Warden of Columbus, Georgia, was traveling northbound on the Parkway in a 2023 Subaru Outback, towing a camper.

Warden collided with Huff, causing life-threatening injuries, and he was pronounced deceased on scene by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office.
