Charged with the October 2023 assault and kidnapping of a woman in Christian County, and arraigned last December, an offer could be coming for Michael Henderson.
During Wednesday’s efforts in Christian County Circuit Court, Judge Andrew Self confirmed the defendant had been, according to Christian County Alternative Services, fully compliant with his ankle monitor.
Defense Attorney Olivia Adams, however, noted to Self and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Mark Gilbert it had been eight months without any true negotiation in the matter.
Gilbert told the court an offer should arrive within the next week or two, for those next steps.
Self, meanwhile, said he would take Henderson’s ask to be removed from the ankle monitor under advisement, and set the next pretrial date for September 11.
Henderson confirmed he’s on the Community Corrections Grant, which is paying for his ankle monitor progress, but it’s hindering him trying to find his own place, while living with his mother.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies reported Henderson kicked the door into a home while armed with a crossbow, and kidnapped and assaulted a woman by choking her.
He was later located with said woman on Bassett Avenue, where he then resisted arrest, threatened deputies and their families, and eventually had to be tased and pepper sprayed before taken to jail.
Among his charges: first-degree assault domestic violence, first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree terroristic threatening, kidnapping of an adult, first-degree strangulation, and first-degree burglary.
