In conjunction with local and state officials and Sodexo partners, Murray State University’s Department of Athletics will begin a pilot program for the sale of select alcoholic beverages at Racer football home games — beginning in the 2024 athletic season.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase beer, seltzers and other similar offerings at select concessions stands throughout the Roy Stewart Stadium concourse.
Specific locations and beverage pricing will be announced at a later date.
Several regulations will be in place for all alcohol transactions made at Murray State football events or events at Roy Stewart Stadium where alcohol is available for purchase:
+ IDENTIFICATION CHECK WILL TAKE PLACE AT EACH TRANSACTION BY SODEXO. Fake IDs presented will be confiscated and individuals will be referred to law enforcement. Students presenting Fake IDs will be subject to the student conduct process.
+ Sales will have a limit of TWO per transaction.
+ Alcohol is NOT permitted to leave the venue.
+ Alcohol sales will STOP at the END of the third quarter.
With this pilot program in place, Murray State joins all other Division I institutions in Kentucky, and its peers in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, as programs that sell alcohol within their football venues on game day.
Future alcohol sales at other sporting events, and within other venues, are currently under review.
