James Derwood Kern age 63, of Hopkinsville, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. Services will be at a later date. Burial was at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family with the care of their loved one.
Mr. Kern was born on May 13, 1961, in Ft. Still, Oklahoma, the son of the late Jerry Kern and Dolores Yeary Mann. James was a veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include his sons, Trey Kern (Marliah) of Hopkinsville, and Taylor Kern of Lexington; his brothers, Bryan Mann of Pembroke, John Kern of Tennessee, and Jay Kern of Pembroke; his sisters, Kristal Carter of Hopkinsville, and Rachael Mann of Pembroke; and nine grandchildren.
