Lucy L. Hart, age 93, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at her home.
Born May 28, 1931, in Cadiz, she was the daughter of the late John Taylor Allen and the late Cecilia Doanie (Johnson) Allen.
Lucy was a dedicated homemaker whose primary focus in life was her family. She also worked for a time as a cook at the Cadiz Restaurant, where her culinary skills were much appreciated.
She loved being with her family and also found joy in reading a good book, the intricate patterns of her crocheting, strumming her guitar, and the beauty of her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Hart; son, Robert Hart; daughter, Beatrice Sholar; grandson, Robert Hart, Jr.; three brothers, Thomas Allen, Bobby Askew, and John Curtis Allen; and two sisters, Sue Faris and Juanita Cook.
She is survived by three sons, Billy Hart (Sharon), John Wayne Hart, and Paul Hart (Robin), all of Cadiz; two daughters, Doanie Barnett of Hopkinsville and Jackie Allen of Cadiz; 11 grandchildren: Chris Hart (Lisa), April McMurphy, James Allen (Kelsey), Thomas Paul Hart, Jr., LeNora Wallace (Keith), Cheryl Robertson, Mary Alexander (Alex), Debbie Harper, Robin Belt, Donna Edmonson, and David Edmonson; 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne Allen (Norma), Robert Allen (Linda), and Donnie Allen (Anna), all of Cadiz; and a sister, Gracie Lewis of Florida.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, August 9, 2024. Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, with Bro. Nickey Knight officiating. Burial will follow in East End Cemetery.
