While open house serves as the unofficial start of the new school year for parents and students, the annual Trigg County gala of tables helps the teachers and school employees get in the proper mood to begin their year.
Over 50 sponsored tables greeted school teachers and staff Friday morning at the cafeteria before a catered breakfast.
The event, highlighted by decorative tables and small gifts, was a first for new Superintendent Rex Booth.

click to download audioThe Edmonson County native was the principal at Russellville High School before taking the Trigg superintendent job in June. He promised the teachers and staff that he would stay engaged with students as the leader of the school district and not spend all of his time ‘across the street’ at the board office.
New staff members or staff in new positions were introduced at Friday’s breakfast. They include five at the central office, four in the primary school, 10 in the intermediate school, seven in the middle school, 11 in the high school, two in the CTE building, five in food services, and seven in transportation.
School begins in Trigg County on Tuesday.
