A Nortonville man was charged with possession of drugs and arrested on outstanding warrants during a traffic stop in Oak Grove Monday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Derek Ferrell on Fort Campbell Boulevard for not having a light on his license plate.
During the stop, he was reportedly found to have a DUI suspended license that had been suspended for 10 years, no valid insurance, and no registration information.
Deputies say they found a digital scale and a white powder substance consistent with narcotics in his vehicle.
He was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), driving on a DUI-suspended license, rear license plate not illuminated, and failure to maintain required insurance.
He also had a warrant out of Nashville for being a fugitive from another state and a warrant out of Lyon County for failure to appear.
