The Christian County Relay for Life has raised more than $62,000 towards this year’s fundraising goal, dedicated to supporting individuals battling cancer.
Pam Futrell, a member of the Relay for Life Committee, mentioned that they had a strong turnout at the Planters Bank Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex in Hopkinsville Friday night.

click to download audioAccording to Futrell, this marks the 32nd year that the local nonprofit organization has conducted its Relay for Life fundraising campaign, raising over $32 million through 2023 to aid in the fight against the disease.
click to download audioOn Monday, the nonprofit organization held a butterfly release on the steps of the Christian County Justice Center in Hopkinsville in memory of those who had lost their battle with cancer. During the event, Mayor J.R. Knight and Christian County Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam proclaimed August 12 through August 17 as Relay for Life.
