A Tennessee man and woman were charged with possession and trafficking drugs after they were found asleep in a church on Hugh Hunter Road in Oak Grove Sunday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say 37-year-old Adam West and 31-year-old Lacey Evans entered the church auditorium, took a seat, and fell asleep.

They reportedly told deputies when they arrived they had no identification cards on them and after a search of their belongings a bag containing a crystal substance and two other substances were found.

Deputies say they both claimed the bag was found in the church bathroom. A law enforcement K9 reportedly alerted to drugs in their vehicle and two crystal rocks, a glass pipe, and a purse containing 7 counterfeit $100 bills were found.

Evans was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, trafficking meth, and public intoxication.

West was also arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, and trafficking meth.
