Since February 4, 1941, the United Service Organizations has served “to lift the morale of our military and nourish support on the home front.”

All these years later that mission continues strong at Fort Campbell, as officials are looking to ‘Revamp the Rhythm.’ The fundraising campaign seeks to collect $25,000 to renovate the music room inside the facility.

The event kicked off Thursday night at the Nashville home of Mary Frances Rudy, owner of Rudy Title & Escrow. Rudy became connected with the USO thanks to her daughter, who is married to a service member.

USO Fort Campbell/Nashville Executive Director Ann Jarvis told Your News Edge at the event that new musical equipment is needed.

Koltein Barnum joined the Army in 2020 and, after his training, spent a year in South Korea at Camp Humphreys. He is now stationed at Fort Campbell and finds great value in the music room at the USO.

Barnum is among the servicemembers who find therapy in the music room.

Jarvis said if the goal is met soon, the hope is to have the renovations completed by Spring 2025, adding the Fort Campbell USO is always in need of volunteers.

The Nashville campaign kickoff featured performances by hit country songwriters Jim Collins and Bob DiPiero, who separately have written country hits for the likes of George Strait, Jason Aldean, The Oak Ridge Boys, Thompson Square, and others.

As of Friday morning, the fundraiser had collected just shy of $4,000. Donations can be made online by clicking here.
