A fire at Knockum Hill Bar-B-Que in Herndon led to the building being badly damaged Wednesday morning.
Herndon Fire Department Chief Neil Farmer says the fire started in the attic near the fire pit and spread to the roof.
The building has extensive damage Farmer says adding the restaurant will be closed for a while.
Firefighters from Lafayette, Oak Grove, Westside, Pembroke, and Square Deal were all called to help extinguish the fire.
No one was injured in the fire. Farmer says the way the building was built along with the heat made it difficult to get to the fire and keep it from spreading.
