On Friday, Governor Andy Beshear announced two regional appointments to statewide boards and commissions.

Nathan Kent, of Cadiz, was reappointed to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. His term will now expire on July 1, 2028. The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council ensures the highest national standards for peace officers, academies, and telecommunicators are followed.

Kent serves as the chief of police for the city of Mayfield.

Additionally, Eston Glover, of Elkton, was appointed to the Energy Planning and Inventory Commission Executive Committee.

The commission is assessing the adequacy of the Commonwealth’s current and future electric generation and transmission resources, as well as anticipated demand. They are also addressing the impact of federal policies, economic effects, grid response to severe weather, and potential new electric-generating technologies.

Glover is the retired president and CEO of Pennyrile Electric and the current Pennyrile Regional Energy Agency board chair. His term will expire on August 15, 2028.
