Ann M. King, 91, of Cadiz

Memorial services for 91-year-old Ann M. King, of Cadiz, will be noon Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 10 AM.

Per wishes, her burial will be private in Lawrence Cemetery.

Survivors include:
Her daughter, Patti Ladd, of Winston Salem, North Carolina;
Two grandsons, Jon Ladd (Jenny) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tyler Ladd of Fairview, North Carolina;
A great-grandson, Jack Ladd;
Two sisters-in-law, LaVerne Barnes of Louisville, Kentucky, and Barbara Mitchell, of Clarksville, Tennessee;
As well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rev. Paxton Redd and Dr. Nick Clark will officiate.

She died Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Princeton Nursing and Rehabilitation in Princeton, Kentucky.

She was born on September 1, 1932, in Trigg County, to the late John Carter and Cicero (Terrell) Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Gerald Mitchell and Edward Alton Mitchell.

She graduated from Trigg County High School in 1950 and set out to work at the International Shoe Co. In 1952 she married George King and they resided in Kansas City, Missouri, George’s home state, for several years before moving to Trigg County in 1963 with their daughter Patti.

She worked as the bookkeeper for George’s new business, King’s Refrigeration and Heating, while also maintaining duties at home.

A longtime dedicated member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, she was faithful to serve in any capacity. She had a loving spirit and a welcoming heart and her porch was always open to friends and family to come and sit a spell.

She loved to travel, crochet, and spend time tending to her flower garden. She also adored her cats, Cloud, Baby Face, and Shoes.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, George Newton King, in December 1992.
