Paul Raymond Cummings, 83, of Hopkinsville, died Sunday, September 8, 2024, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the service hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Houlton, Maine he was born October 28, 1940, the son of the late Raymond and Marcia Cummings. He was retired from the United States Army having served two tours in Vietnam, and he was also a recipient of the Bronze Star. Following retirement from the Army, he worked for the State of Kentucky as a counselor for vulnerable youth. He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Anne Cummings; and his sister: Mary Ann Cummings.
Survivors include his children: Larry Hostetter of Lewisport, KY, Dee Burchett of West Jefferson, OH, and Sandy (Van) Vandall of Shady Spring, WV; his brother: David Cummings of Alfred, Maine; his grandchildren: Elizabeth Wilson, Jeffrey Damron, and Wesley Damron; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
