Thelma Futrell, age 86, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Shady Lawn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cadiz.
She was born on May 14, 1938, in Trigg County, to the late Malcolm & Bessie (McCoy) Futrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Futrell.
A beloved sister and aunt, Thelma found joy in spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed cooking, watching her favorite television shows, and working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by two sisters, Rita Amsden (Orrin) of Cadiz and Linda Hendon of Hopkinsville, KY; a brother, David Futrell (Donna) of Somerville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at East Cadiz Baptist Church Cemetery, 407 Third St., Cadiz, at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, with Rev. Joe K. Johnson officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
