The Cadiz Public Works Department has a busy calendar for the next month.

Fresh off clearing storm debris from the storms in late May, Director Craig Oakley said his crews are now turning toward preparations for this year’s Ham Festival.

Oakley said the preparations they do each year before the annual event take anywhere from three to five weeks.

His crews will also help Cadiz On Main Director Brianna Hyde decorate the town for the festival.

Oakley said his crews will also be working the Sunday following Ham Festival to clean up the city.

Additionally, his crews continue to work on the sewer project behind Trigg County Public Schools. The project, phase three of sewer upgrades, is being performed by the city – providing a cost savings of over $750,000.
