Wednesday marks the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

During the WKDZ Country Club, Karle Johnson a member of VFW Post 7890 in Cadiz, said we must never forget this horrific day.

Johnson said on that day, he was working and didn’t learn of the news until he went to lunch.

The September 11, 2001 attacks resulted in the deaths of 2,996 people following four coordinated suicide attacks by Islamist terrorists from al-Qaeda against the United States. On that morning, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners that were scheduled to travel from the East Coast to California.
