LaRue Bond, 90, of Clarksville, Tennessee

LaRue Fritz Bond, age 90, of Clarksville, TN, passed away September 8, 2024, at her residence of natural causes. Celebration of Life will be at 12:30 PM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Pat VanDyke officiating with entombment to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mrs. Bond was born in White Plains, KY, on September 9, 1933, the daughter of the late William Gordon and Lee Agnes Sisk Fritz. LaRue was a graduate of Pembroke High School with Valedictorian honors and later attended Memphis State University where she completed courses in accounting. She worked as a civilian at Niagara Airforce Base in New York State and Fort Campbell Military Base. In 1960 she and her husband Bill opened Bonds Pure Oil Truck Stop and were in business for 10 years. After moving to Memphis, TN, LaRue completed the civil services exam while working at the IRS. She later worked for Cook Industries as an accountant and Jones Truck Line as a Transportation Sales Representative. LaRue was the first female Transportation Sales Representative in Memphis and was a member of the Transportation Club. She went on to work at Schedule Truck Line in sales and her final job was working again with her husband Bill at their business B&B Transportation as a Transportation Broker. While living in Memphis LaRue attended Faith Baptist Church where she was very active in her Sunday school class. She attended Sunday School Outings as well as serving and cooking for funeral luncheons. LaRue loved cooking and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Claude “Bill” Wallace Bond.

Survivors include her son, John Wallace Bond of Byhalia, MS; her daughters, Terry Lynn Brandon and her husband Bill of Christian County, KY, and Lisa Ann Hicks and her husband James of Clarksville, TN; five grandchildren, Bobby Major, Mitchell Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Wesley Bond, and Sydney McClure; and seven great grandchildren, Saralynn Major, Easton Hicks, Casen Hicks, Macie LaRue McClure, Lowery Hicks, Drake Hicks, and Marley McClure.
