Hopkinsville’s primary community theater company, Campanile Productions announced this week it is bringing their most popular production to the historic Alhambra Theatre.

Tickets are now on sale now for five performances of L. Frank Baum’s “Wizard of Oz,” which will play October 17-20.

Patrons will follow the yellow brick road in this stage adaptation, which will feature the iconic musical score from the MGM film.

A timeless tale, in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz, Campanile’s cast and crew has been working hard to put together the production for the community.

This is a classic story with plenty of special effects, and officials noted this is a perfect family show, date night or evening out with friends.

Guests are encouraged, but not required to, get in the Halloween spirit by dressing as their favorite Wizard of Oz character.

If one doesn’t want to be a character, then they can wear their flashiest green attire as a fellow “Ozian of the Emerald City.”

Campanile Productions Director Jeff Riggs said they are hoping showgoers have fun, stay creative, make a memory and enjoy the show.

Tickets to the three evening performances and two matinee performances can be purchased at campanileproductions.com.

The last time Campanile Productions performed Wizard of Oz, all performances sold out.
