A week after a tough loss against University Heights Academy, Christian County girls soccer had to embrace a tough opponent at home Thursday night, and fell to Allen County-Scottsville 2-1.
Now 1-13-1 on the season, the Lady Colonels got an unassisted goal from Carlie Hobson in the first half, while keeper Neziyah Bell registered five saves. Both are sophomores, and that’s Hobson’s third goal of the year — tying her with Jayda Turner for the team lead — while Bell is up to 84 denials in 14 matches.
Out of the Fourth Region’s 15th District, the Lady Patriots moved to 11-6 behind goals from junior Gabby Garcia and freshman Lilly Sanchez, who assisted on Garcia’s score. Senior keeper Shayna Stevens added eight saves.
Garcia now has 36 goals in 17 games, along with four assists, while Sanchez is now third on the team with 21 points (nine goals, three assists).
The final home match for second-year Coach Peyton Moshier and his team, it served as Senior Night for Avery Adcock and Jada Miller, who are star softballers. Adcock has appeared in one contest, while Miller has appeared in all 15.
Neither dressed for soccer last season.

The Lady Lakers fell 7-0 to district nemesis Marshall County Thursday night, but are 9-6 on the year, while the E-Gals of the Third Region are 9-5 and third in regional RPI.
