A Hopkinsville man was charged with fleeing or evading police after a traffic stop in Christian County Tuesday night.
Kentucky State Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Anthony Johnson for a problem with his registration plate, and he fled.
The vehicle was reportedly located parked at a home on Sharpe Street but running.
Police say Johnson claimed he had been asleep at the time, but a woman at the home said Johnson had been drinking and had left to get more alcohol.
Johnson was arrested and charged with DUI, first-degree fleeing or evading police, operating a vehicle with an expired operator’s license, no insurance, and several other traffic violations.
