Hopkinsville Facing Deficit in Health Care Fund

With rising insurance and health care costs, the City of Hopkinsville funded health insurance is currently being underfunded. Tuesday night, Higgins Insurance Vice President, Mack Major told City Council they would need to consider changes in the coming fiscal year.

In other business, Hopkinsville City Council approved the second reading of the new Garbarge, Trash and Weeds Amendment, which Solid Waste Board Member Steve Keel noted was not an increase in rates for customers.
