A familiar face for early morning news in Nashville, who lives in Hopkinsville, officially announced her retirement Thursday.
Amy Watson, who has over 30 years of TV news broadcast experience, shared the announcement on NewsChannel 5 – where she has worked for the last 18 years, as a morning news anchor.
Watson said she’s not sure what’s next, but immediate plans include getting much-needed rest and spending time with her grandchildren.
She grew up in Murray and started her career at TV-43 in Hopkinsville. Before her time with NewsChannel 5, she worked at WPSD in Paducah and the Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Cape Girardeau, Missouri markets.
