A lack of rain has produced the driest October in nearly two decades with no immediate relief in sight.
The last measurable rain in the area happened on Monday, September 30, and took the region out of drought status. However, meteorologist Katy Shawkey with the Paducah weather service office says there may be a slight chance later this week but nothing to get excited about.
