Karen Fortner Ladd, 54, of Cadiz

Karen Fortner Ladd, age 54, of Cadiz, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

She was born on December 22, 1969, in Union City, TN, to Martha Stalons Fortner and the late Rev. Marshall Fortner.

A 1988 graduate of Trigg County High School, Karen attended Hopkinsville Community College and Austin Peay State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. Her career as an accounting representative at Pennyrile Rural Electric spanned over two decades, where her diligence, integrity, and kindness made her not only a respected employee but also a cherished friend.

Married to the love of her life, Todd Ladd, on September 19, 1992, Karen was a devoted wife for 32 years. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, welcoming their son Tyler and daughter Khloe, whom she adored with every fiber of her being. Her love for her family was boundless.

Beyond her family, Karen’s faith guided her throughout her life. She was an active member of Parkway Missionary Baptist Church, where her love for God was exemplified by her service, sharing her musical talents as the pianist and serving as a former Sunday school teacher. She had a creative spirit and a passion for beauty, which was reflected in her love for decorating her home and her fondness for vibrant flowers.
