Early voting in Kentucky remains on a record pace.
That’s according to Kentucky’s Secretary of State Michael Adams, who earlier Friday shared on social media that after Thursday’s opening polls, the Commonwealth had 225,696 hit the polls across 120 counties.
Of those, more than 121,000 were registered Republicans, and more than 89,000 of them were registered Democrats. Another 14,000-plus were registered Independent or Other.
Adams noted that the state’s full registration is 46.8% GOP, 42.5% Democratic and 10.7% Independent/Other.
The first day of Kentucky’s early voting in 2020 was 57,154, and in 2022 it was 81,961 — meaning the state is currently experiencing a nearly 280% increase in these efforts.
Early voting in Trigg County continues from 10 AM until 6 PM Saturday at the Emergency Operations Center. For Christian County, it’s from 8 AM until 4 PM at the Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville Christian County on Walnut Street, the Bruce Convention Center and the Christian County Senior Citizen’s Center. For Caldwell County, it is from 8 AM until 4 PM at the Butler Gym.
