Man Wanted In Connection To Hopkinsville Fatal Shooting

Authorities are looking for a man in connection to a shooting that took the life of a Hopkinsville man on North Virginia Street in Hopkinsville Friday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Jacorey Major was shot twice in front of Discount Liquors just before midnight.

Shell casings were located in the area and the building was also hit several times.

Major was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for injuries to his arm and abdomen but later died.

After further investigation, police say they are looking for 27-year-old Tavarious Mathews in connection to the shooting and believe he could be armed and dangerous.

Police say they are continuing to investigate but believe the shots may have come from a vehicle.

North Virginia Street was temporarily blocked in the area of East 1st Street as the shooting was investigated.
