Two celebrations of life 62-year-old Marilyn Thornton of Pembroke will be held; one in Kentucky and one in Alabama. Details will be released by family as soon as they are determined.

Marilyn Thornton, 62, of Pembroke, KY, formerly of Sheffield, AL, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2024 at her residence.
A native of Sheffield, AL she was born October 7, 1962 the daughter of the late George Eugene Aday and Mary Eltise Jackson Aday. She worked as a medical receptionist. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, cooking country dinners and traveling with her kids and grandkids.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Phillip Thornton; her sisters: Mavanell Turner, Sue Aday, Elaine Aday, and Patricia (Douglas) Pate.
Survivors include her daughter: Amanda (Rich) DuBois of Pembroke, KY; her sons: Wade (Lindsey) Thornton of Florence, AL and Shawn (Brandon) Thornton of Pembroke, KY; her grandchildren: Brent (Zoe) League, Aidan (Jonny and Ashton) League, Katie (Alex) DuBois, Kathy DuBois, and Richard DuBois; and her brother: Marshall Aday of Florence, AL.
