With December 3 and “Giving Tuesday” less than two weeks away, the Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County once again has plans to participate.

Longtime organization supporter Sue Badgett, of Baird, is making this possible — hosting an online campaign to raise, and empower, local youth to reach their potential.

Badgett has plans to match the first $10,000 in donations made.

Terrence Davis, the club’s longstanding executive director, said they were “immensely grateful” for Badgett’s considerable generosity, and that she had been there hand-in-hand since the club’s 2005 inception.

Her donation, he added, will “hopefully inspire other people to support the mission,” because helping kids is the “simple, right thing to do.”

Rising costs and an ever-growing need for quality programming and wrap-around services means there is a consistent need for fundraising. In 2024, this Boys & Girls Club served more than 520 different local youth with affordable, high-impact after school programs focusing on healthy meals, tutoring and mentoring.

A peer-to-peer fundraising campaign is taking place from December 3-8, and donations can be made by calling the Club, dropping off a donation, or donating online by visiting go.rallyup.com/bgchccworldofdifference.
