The Hopkinsville Community College Foundation recently received a $5,000 grant from the Julian-Carver Family Foundation, Inc. of Versailles, which will support HCC’s PATH to Completion project, helping nonactive students achieve their credential.
Angel Prescott, HCC vice president for student affairs, noted this will impact a specified group, while giving specialized services for overarching support.
This project will analyze the challenges facing inactive HCC students who have nearly completed their credentials, while re-engaging with those students to provide need-based guidance.
The bulk of grant funds are designated to employ a temporary college navigator, who will contact inactive students who are at least 75% to completion of their credential. The college navigator will help connect these near-completers with appropriate student services and re-enroll them in their program of study.
