A family on North McPherson Avenue was displaced after a small fire started in the attic of their home Friday night.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says a small fire caused minor damage in the attic and is believed to have been started by an electrical issue.
The homeowner reportedly used an extinguisher to knock down the fire quickly. The power had to be cut off leading to the family being temporarily displaced.
