Glavious Orlan Rogers, 90, of Hopkinsville, died at 6:16 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his home.
Private services will be held at a later date, and burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens in Murray, Kentucky. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Calloway County, Kentucky he was born on August 8, 1934, the son of the late Novice Glenn Rogers and Ethel Elizabeth Clark Rogers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Julie Rogers.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church and served as a State Police Officer from 1955 until 1965. He retired from the United Parcel Service after serving as personnel manager for Western Kentucky, Louisville, and Lexington and also as the manager for the Madisonville and Hopkinsville offices.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Marie Tucker Rogers of Hopkinsville, KY; his son, Ricky Mac (Kathy) Rogers of Gilbertsville, KY; his daughters, Kathy (Bob) Priddy and Shelia (Mike) Fears both of Hopkinsville, KY. Six grandchildren, Ryan Rogers, Amy Rogers Edwards, Bobby Priddy, Connor Priddy, Nichole Fears Henson, and Carson Fears, and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may take the form of donations to Pennyroyal Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
