Daniel Laurent has been named the first runner-up in the Kentucky Farm Bureau Outstanding Youth Contest.
Laurent competed in the contest consisting of a prepared speech plus an interview in front of a board of judges at the 105th annual Kentucky Farm Bureau Convention held in the Galt House in Louisville. He qualified for the state contest after winning both the local and regional contests held earlier this year. Laurent was aware of the extremely talented students he was competing with calling them the cream of the crop.

click to download audioDaniel Laurent is a senior at Caldwell County High School and serves as President of the local FFA Chapter as well as President of the Pennyrile Region. He is also active in the local 4-H program and a member of the high school football and track teams.
