More information has been released about a Hopkinsville man who was found dead in a wooded area off of Bell Street in Hopkinsville Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 45-year-old Dmitri Jackson was found by the river deceased just after 11 a.m. but the cause of his death has not been determined. The area was taped off by law enforcement as they collected evidence and worked to recover his body from the riverbank.
The body was reportedly noticed by people walking on the walking trail on the opposite side of the river and law enforcement was called.
The Christian County Coroner’s Office along with Christian County Rescue were called to help recover his body and pronounce him dead.
Authorities say they are continuing to investigate and it is unclear at this time what led to his death.
Bell Street is located off of West 7th Street.
