Donna Kay George, 79, of Hopkinsville, died at 11:09 a.m. Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from noon until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Lewisburg, TN she was born September 6, 1945, the daughter of the late Walter Robert “W.R.” and Nancy Sanders. She was a graduate of Belmont University and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree from Austin Peay State University. She was a retired teacher having taught for 32 years. She spent the majority of her teaching career at Ringgold Elementary School in Clarksville, TN. She was an avid golfer and served as the secretary of the Western Hills Golf Course. She also liked to travel the United States and Canada.
Survivors include her husband: Ralph George; her sons: Steven George, Brett George, and Matthew (Kristine) George all of Hopkinsville, KY; her sisters: Grace (Rich) Aquilini of North Carolina and Barbara (Carmen) Mangrum of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Ladies’ Golf Association at Western Hills Golf Course.
