Patsy Leona Martin Carranza, age 82, of Clarksville, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Bradford Heights of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West at a later date for Patsy and her husband Gustavo Carranza. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Carranza was born on August 6, 1942, in Palmyra, TN, the daughter of the late William T. and Nina Mae Baggett Martin. Patsy was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. Patsy could talk to anyone she met! She enjoyed bird watching and reading. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gustavo “Gus” Carranza; her sons, William Roy Shelby; her brothers, Russell, Ray, Carlis, and Thomas Martin; her sisters, Della Cook, Betty Morris, and Edna Garabiedian.
Her survivors include her son, Manuel A. (Erin) Carranza of Asheville, NC; her daughter, Shirley (Edward Henry) Rice of Hopkinsville; her six grandchildren, Deniece (Richard) Gillispie, Jennifer Hoffman, Chynna (Waylon) Hawkins, Katie (David) Smith, Cassius Carranza, Lochlan Carranza; and her seven great-grandchildren, Ricky, Brooke, and Jaxson Gillispie, Brayden and Madison Hoffman, Ellie Hawkins, and Lylah Smith.
