Trigg County 4-H Member Excels In Trash Sculpture Competition

The 2024 4-H Trash Sculpture Competition featured artworks made from recycled materials created by 4-H members in Western Kentucky.

Trigg County 4-H member Jessara Crenshaw received 1st in the regional competition with her “Bloom-o-phone” sculpture. The sculpture was created with cardboard, plastic cups and bottles, and other recycled items.

The Trash Sculpture Competition challenges students to create an artwork using only materials that would normally be thrown away. Sculptures were judged on variety of materials, creativity, overall appearance, and usefulness of structure.

4-H members of various ages from Caldwell, Crittenden, Livingston, Lyon, and Trigg counties competed.
