A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend after she showed up at the hospital with a broken sternum Christmas Day.
Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Dalton Putty assaulted his girlfriend a few days prior to her showing up at the hospital and was under the influence of alcohol when law enforcement arrived at his home to investigate the assault.
While investigating the incident, Police say he kicked the door to his apartment and caused a disturbance.
He was arrested and charged with first-degree assault domestic violence, possession of marijuana, alcohol intoxication in a public place, second-degree disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
