Forecasters are honing in on Friday’s snowfall forecast and the impacts expected in western Kentucky.

Paducah National Weather Service Lead Forecaster Justin Gibbs said this winter storm will only feature snow.

Gibbs shared that snowfall rates typically follow a 10:1 ratio, meaning that for every one inch of rainfall – you would see about ten inches of snow.

This winter storm will occur throughout the entire day on Friday.

Winds during the storm will get up to 10 MPH. Friday’s high will be around the freezing mark and highs could remain that way through the weekend, especially if snow is on the ground.
