Man Charged With Attempted Burglary Of A Church

A Hopkinsville man was charged with attempted burglary at a church on Butler Road in Christian County Wednesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say on January 3rd, 29-year-old Elijah Boodoosingh was seen trying to get into a door at Highland Presbyterian Church, then climbing over a stone railing and attempting to push open a window before damaging a security camera.

A short time later, police say he used a landscaping brick to break a glass window on a door to the golf clubhouse at Western Hills Golf Course.

He was located on Wednesday and showed the security camera footage and denied attempting to break in and claimed he was emotional and under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal mischief and two counts of attempted third-degree burglary.
