The Hopkinsville Police Department has named a suspect in the theft of a trailer containing football equipment from the Hopkinsville Christian County Bud Hudson Youth League that occurred last week.
46-year-old James Phillips Jr. was listed as the Hopkinsville-Christian County Crimestoppers Fugitive of the Week Monday night. He will be charged with theft over $10,000 and second-degree criminal mischief when he is located and arrested.
A 6×12 trailer containing over $60,000 worth of equipment from the youth football league was stolen on January 7 from the residence of league commissioner Matthew Monday. He says a police report was made with the items listed as taken.

click to download audioAccording to the Christian County Jail website, James Phillips Jr. was arrested by Hopkinsville Police on November 6 on charges of theft of property mislaid over $1,000; possession of cocaine; and first-degree criminal mischief. He was scheduled to be arraigned on those charges in Christian County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
