The I-24 onramp at Fort Campbell Boulevard will be closed Tuesday (January 14) from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm so that state transportation officials can repair damage caused by a crash last week.
The blockage will only affect vehicles driving north from Fort Campbell to plan to get on I-24 and head west toward Cadiz and Paducah.
The guardrail was heavily damaged on January 7 when an 18-wheeler driven by 44-year-old Valerio Sanders of Smyrna, Tennessee failed to negotiate the onramp curve and overturned. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office report cited oversteering and driving too fast for conditions as the cause of the crash in which Sanders was killed.
