A Clarksville man was charged after he reportedly led law enforcement on a foot pursuit Tuesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called for 40-year-old Christopher Williams who entered a business on North Vine Street and claimed he had fallen into the river.

He reportedly fled the area before law enforcement arrived but was found in a shed at Jeffers Bend then fled out the window and onto Pennyrile Parkway before he was detained.

Police say they took him to the hospital for medical clearance before going to jail and he would not stop yelling.

He is charged with public intoxication, second-degree disorderly conduct, and first-degree fleeing or evading police.
